Understanding Concrete Lifting & Levelling
Expert Slab Jacking In The Capital Of Manitoba
Concrete Lifting in Winnipeg, MB has many terms such as concrete lifting, concrete raising, foam lifting, foam jacking, slab jacking, and poly jacking. Our method of lifting involves using eco-friendly, expanding structural polyurethane foam that lasts a lifetime and can help prevent over lifting.
Mudjacking History
When concrete lifting was first introduced in the 1930’s , it was primarily done as a slurry mixture called “mud” that was pumped under pressure into a large hole (1” to 3” in size) in the concrete. This is where the term mud-jacking was born. There were some hazards with mudjacking as it was under high pressures to reach all the voids, and there were risks of cracking the concrete, as well as water erosion causing it to sink again in the future. We install a modern polyurethane product that is safer, has a much smaller hole, and provides a controlled concrete lift.
Causes of Sunken Concrete
Some causes to concrete sinking can be due to poorly compacted earthwork, water erosion, or in-efficient water management systems. If you have gutters that drain near concrete structures or clogged gutters, excess water can cause soil erosion. And with the freeze and thaw of each year, those soil displacements increase and cause concrete to sink.
Foam Jacking in Winnipeg
Concrete levelling in Leduc is a relatively quick, especially with the modern approach by injecting polyurethane insulation. We determine the area where concrete needs to be raised to, and whether or not we need to drill multiple holes, then we attached a special nozzle into the concrete to apply a controlled and precise lift by allowing foam to expand.
Experts are certified by UFC in Canada and have been trained by seasoned industry professionals. Slab jacking using polyurethane foam is safe, environmentally friendly, and can even stabilize soil and mitigate future erosion after becoming hydrophobic once cured.
When we’re done you’ll be able to walk on it within 30mins. The hole (less than the diameter of a dime) is filled with concrete mix and dust from the original concrete to blend the hole, basically making it virtually unnoticeable. This makes foam slab concrete lifting an excellent choice for high visibility and high traffic areas such as patios, walkways, driveways, and slabs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is foam jacking permanent?
Yes foam jacking is permanent, it can outlast a lifetime if protected from UV rays and harsh weather.
Is polyjacking better than mudjacking?
Yes, polyjacking is better than mudjacking because polyurethane is a long-term solution and is waterproof, unlike mudjacking which may need to be redone in the future.
Is concrete levelling foam different than spray foam?
Concrete levelling foam and traditional spray foam can both be 2lbs density foams, but depending on the compressive strength needed for lifting, 2.5lbs or 3lbs may be used.
